Thousands of kilometers away from Christmas Island, Australian officials say a boat believed to be carrying asylum seekers has been spotted off the eastern state of Queensland.
Officials say the vessel believed to be carrying up to 40 migrants is heading for Queensland's northern shores.
Local media said the boat's name is Triple Glory and it had sailed from Hong Kong.
Customs officials say they are aware of the vessel. It is not clear if the government will take action to prevent the boat from docking.
