The U-S and British First Ladies are joining in the offensive against the Taleban.
President Bush's wife, Laura, plans to use a radio address Saturday to tell listeners about the Taleban repression of Afghan women.
Her address is part of a U-S administration campaign in which prominent women outside Afghanistan highlight the Taleban's harsh treatment of women under its rule.
In London Monday, the wife of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Cherie, will also spread the message about the Taleban in a meeting with senior women cabinet members.
Both President Bush and Prime Minister Blair have spoken out repeatedly about the plight of Afghan women under the Taleban. Visiting Russian President Valdimir Putin also raised the issue Thursday in a joint news conference in Texas with President Bush.
