U-S officials say an American reconnaissance plane recorded the capture and killing of a U-S Navy Seal by al-Qaida fighters after he fell out of a U-S helicopter.
Navy Petty Officer Neil Roberts was one of the eight U-S soldiers killed earlier this week during intense fighting in the rugged mountains of eastern Afghanistan.
The whole event was filmed by an unmanned "Predator" military drone that sent back the images to U-S military commanders in the region. Officials say the footage showed the injured Navy Seal being dragged away and then shot dead by three al-Qaida men.
Petty Officer Roberts had accidentally fallen out of the helicopter after the chopper was hit by an al-Qaida-launched rocket grenade. On Tuesday, a U-S commando team moved into the area and retrieved his body.
