Two German soldiers collapsed with grief during a memorial ceremony at a German military base in Afghanistan today (Saturday) for two German and three Danish soldiers.
Amid falling rain and music by Johann Sebastian Bach, officers eulogized the fallen soldiers, whose coffins were lined up on a dirt parade grounds.
The five European soldiers were killed Wednesday while trying to defuse two Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles with a controlled explosion at a munitions collection point outside of Kabul.
The cause of the accident remains unclear.
