U-S Secretary of State Colin Powell says the al-Qaida terrorist group is being destroyed in Afghanistan.
Interviewed on U-S television ("Fox News Sunday") today (Sunday), Mr. Powell also said he is confident the network's leader, Osama bin Laden, will be captured.
He said it might not be today, tomorrow or even two years from now. But he reiterated President Bush's pledge that the United States will not rest until bin Laden is brought to justice.
At the same time, Mr. Powell emphasized that the mission in Afghanistan was never targeted at just one man, but at a network of terrorists. He said every nation that has an al-Qaida cell should see it as, in Secretary Powell's words, "a threat."
