South Africa is offering to help in the reconstruction of Afghanistan through assistance in clearing land mines.
Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says South Africa does not have money to contribute, but is prepared to offer technical assistance in de-mining.
Ms. Dlamini-Zuma spoke in Pretoria today (Thursday) upon her return from an international donor conference in Tokyo, where participants pledged four-point-five-billion dollars for Afghanistan.
South Africa's military and several private companies have gained a reputation as leaders in the field of mine clearance.
