Turkish police have arrested three Turkish men authorities say have admitted to fighting in the ranks of Afghanistan's ousted Taliban militia.
Turkey's Anatolia News Agency says the three were taken into custody Tuesday after they slipped back across the Iranian border into southeastern Hakkari province. Police say the three men were among a group of about 20 Turks who left for Afghanistan in October in response to a call from the terrorist al-Qaida organization for a holy war.
The detainees reportedly told police they received military training for two months in an al-Qaida camp before joining the ranks of Taleban forces.
The men have not yet been charged, but officials said they could face charges of engaging in radical Islamic activity.
